The Taiwan-Hong Kong International Studies Center of National Sun Yat-sen University was established in 2021 with the purpose of promoting the internationalization of Taiwan and Hong Kong international studies in Taiwan. In order to benefit the academic community to further promote related topics, the Center will launch the "Hong Kong Cultural Collection Project" to systematically preserve, display, and exchange academic resources related to Hong Kong studies. The goal of this project is to collect, organize and digitize Hong Kong’s valuable collection and preservation materials, covering areas ranging from daily life to political and economic aspects. It is hoped that the first complete collection outside Hong Kong can be collected and constructed through academic networks and public cooperation. Hong Kong Cultural Database. At the same time, this plan hopes to make the collection of cultural relics academic and popular. If resources permit, a set of data description vocabulary and collection data query and citation system will be established to facilitate the application of the research results of this project by the academic community and the public.
The types of cultural relics to be collected are any cultural relics, documents and audio-visual materials related to Hong Kong culture, including but not limited to the following types:

1. Publishing and printing (newspapers, books, maps, religious books, pamphlets, etc.)
2. Cultural relics (museums, universities, private collections, etc.)
3. Photos (living photos, field trip photos, etc.)
4. Audio-visual records (daily audio-visual records, entertainment industry audio-visual records, field investigation audio-visual records, oral history interview records, etc.)
5. Anything else of cultural value (folk arts, etc.)

The scheme is tentatively scheduled to be implemented gradually over the next three years and will be divided into two main phases. The first stage is the collection and arrangement of cultural relics, and the second stage is the release, display and exchange of cultural relics. In terms of execution time, since it takes time to complete the data, it will be classified and collected according to the cultural field, hoping that the finishing process will be smoother; as for the actual execution time of the second stage, it needs to be based on the progress of the first stage, which has not yet been implemented. The sub-area collections are listed in the following order:

1. Journalism and communication industry
2. Catering industry
3. Mass entertainment
4. Religion
5. Politics and Law
6. Trade and Finance
7. Education and publishing
8. Public service and associations
9. Any other fields not listed

The center now invites the academic circle and the public to participate and help us build a complete database of Hong Kong culture. Anyone who is interested in helping, donating, or has any questions, please send an email to info.icths@mail.nsysu.edu.tw for inquiries. For individuals or units that donate precious materials, the center will indicate the donor and the copyright owner when displaying or publishing; the center will also verify the source after collecting the information to protect the copyright owner; The information will only be used for internal academic purposes by the Center, and will not be reproduced, modified, issued, publicly displayed, distributed or used for any public purpose in any form.

The International Center for Taiwan and Hong Kong Studies at National Sun Yat-sen University was established in 2021 with the aim of promoting the internationalization of international studies in Taiwan and Hong Kong. To further advance related studies in the academic community, the Hong Kong Cultural Archives Project will be launched to systematically preserve, display, and exchange scholarly resources related to Hong Kong studies.
The project aims to collect, organize and digitize Hong Kong's valuable materials, covering a wide range of fields including but not limited to daily life, politics and economics, etc., in order to build up the first integrated database of Hong Kong culture abroad in Taiwan with the help of the academic network and public. The project also aims to compile the collection in both scholarly and accessible ways, and to establish a system of descriptive vocabulary as well as a system of the collections which allows searching and citation if resources permit , in order to facilitate the application of the project's findings for both academic and public use.

Any artefacts, documents and audio-visual materials related to Hong Kong culture are welcome, including but not limited to the following categories.
1. Published and Printed Materials (Newspapers, Books, Maps, Religious Texts, Pamphlets, etc.)
2. Artefacts (Museums, Universities or Private collections, etc.)
3. Photographs (Daily Life, Fieldwork Photographs, etc.)
4. Audio-visual recordings (Audio-visual Recordings of Daily Life, Entertainment, Field Trips, or Oral History Interviews, etc.)
5. Other materials with certain cultural value in any form (Folk art, etc.)

The project is tentatively scheduled to be implemented gradually over the next 3 years, divided into 2 main phases. Cultural artefacts will be collected and arranged in Phase 1, followed by dissemination, display and exchange in Phase 2. As data organizing takes time, the collection will be categorized according to cultural fields in order to smoothen the process. The order of collections is as follows,

1. Journalism and Media
2. Food and Beverage
3. Public Entertainment
4. Religion
5. Politics and Law
6. Trade and Finance
7. Education and Publishing
8. Public Services and Organizations
9. Any other fields not listed

We are inviting the academic community and public's participation in building up an integrated database of Hong Kong culture. Anyone who is interested in helping, donating or has any questions, please contact the Center for further details via info.icths@mail.nsysu.edu .tw. For individuals or organizations donating valuable materials, the donor and the copyright owner will be identified on the materials once displayed or published, with the provenance of the materials verified to protect the copyright owner. be used for internal academic purposes only, and will not be reproduced, adapted, distributed, publicly displayed, disseminated or used for any public purpose in any form.
